Our visiting specialists and consultants have undergone extensive post graduate training in their particular disciplines and are highly experienced in their fields.
They run weekly referral clinics at Highcroft where they see cases referred by veterinary surgeons from all over the south west, including our own.

Cardiology Referrals
Dr Luca Ferasin DVM PhD CertVC DipECVIM-CA (Cardiology) MRCVS is one of the few recognised European and RCVS Specialists in Veterinary cardiology.
Luca offers consultancy for all cardiovascular conditions in dogs and cats and runs referral clinics here at Highcroft with full diagnostic and clinical facilities.

Heart Screening
Many breed clubs - including Boxers, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Bengals, Newfoundlands, Maine Coons - have already issued important recommendations for heart screening in the attempt to identify and reduce the prevalence of some heart abnormalities.
Luca is on the Veterinary Cardiovascular Society list of recommended veterinary surgeons for Cardiac Auscultation, Doppler echocardiographic examination and testing for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) in cats.
Vets can refer breeders to Luca for this service.
ECG and X-ray Interpretation
Luca also offers ECG analysis and interpretation of thoracic radiographs.

IF YOU ARE A VET wishing to refer a client to Luca, simply call 01275 838473 with your client's details and we will make all the necessary arrangements for the referral visit.
History, case notes and other relevant information can be sent to us by fax or email. Radiographs can be sent with the client on the day.
You will receive a full report and treatment plan within 24 hours. This report can be sent as an email, a fax and /or by post.
Please note that all externally referred owners are required to sign a declaration which explains that Highcroft Veterinary Group cannot provide first opinion services, or sell them vet-only products such as flea and worm treatments, within 12 months of their visit to the referral service.
