Eye Clinics
Veterinary surgeon, Marit Jynge BVSc MRCVS, runs ophthalmology clinics at the Stockwood branch every Thursday.
These clinics are used to work up more complex eye cases. Marit sees pets that have been referred to her internally for medical and surgical eye problems, for example corneal ulcers, entropion, cherry eye, glaucoma and dry eye.
Marit uses a range of diagnostic equipment including:
- Direct ophthalmoscopy - for looking at structures within the eye.
- Indirect ophthalmoscopy - for looking at the retina and other structures at the back of the eye.
- Slit lamp - focal light illumination and high magnification for a close examination of fine details around and within the eye.
- Tonopen - for meassuring pressures of the eyes, e.g. in glaucoma.
