Wow! Gorilla, Cheeky Charlie
Comes to live at Highcroft
Cheeky Charlie, one of the stars of Bristol Zoo's Wow! Gorillas event, arrived at Highcroft Veterinary Hospital early this week and has been the centre of attention ever since.
Cheeky Charlie, formerly known as Cheeky Check-up, has been meeting and greeting visitors to the busy hospital in Whitchurch and has brought no end of smiles (and the odd bark) to the practice.
Senior Partner, Richard Killen, who joined over 500 people at a packed Wow Gorilla's auction room last Thursday, says "We are overwhelmed with the response from clients to Cheeky Check-up. They love him, he's a real talking point and the reception area has never been cheerier. People are pleased that we have kept one of these fabulous creations on public view.
Richard continues "Bidding for Cheeky Charlie has been the perfect way for us to support Bristol Zoo (whose veterinary team runs weekly clinics at our hospital for unusual pets) and help raise much needed funds for the Gorilla Conservation and Bristol's Children's Hospital."
Cheeky Charlie was named for us by Paige Farrell, aged almost 9, at our Open Day on 9th October. Paige entered our competition to name him, along with several hundred others, and was the lucky winner of a Sony DVD Player and a cuddly gorilla.
Please come and see him soon, he loves the attention.
