Bafta Winner at Highcroft

Congratulations go to Mike Herman, our Puppy Trainer, and his dog Maddie, after the short film Maddie took part in won a BAFTA for best short film 2009.

Mike was approached by Kate Byers of Early Day Films after meeting Maddie at puppy class. Kate asked if it would be possible to use Maddie in a short film called "September" that she was co-producing. How could he possibly refuse?

Filming took place in and around Bristol and, over the course of a week, Maddie and Mike were required for filming day and night shoots. Maddie was a real star on camera hitting her marks every time, and off camera she kept everyone thoroughly in love with her. Move over Lassie!

Since winning hte BAFTA, "September" has gone on to be shown all over the world at various film festivals and has won more than 7 Best Film Awards to date.
